Industries
and labor conditions in German in the 20th and 21st century
The 20th century witnessed a
technological firestorm race throughout the world of business. During this
period, Germany experienced a successful growth spell in its industries and
labor market. It was among the top industrialized nations alongside Britain and
the United States. Older industries were finished by new methods of production
with newer ones coming into fore. Its growth of production was strikingly high.
This period saw the emergence of companies like Siemens and Bayer (Grenville
315).
This great success was due to the increased
disparity in the country’s population. In early 20th century,
Germany alongside other leading countries developed a protectionist industrial
policy to structure capitalist economic development during important phases of
its industrialization process. It improved its labor conditions to favor the
working conditions of its citizens. This was in terms of salary adjustments and
workers welfare to march the ongoing changes in industries. However, this
growth staggered due to the great economic depression and the World Wars
experienced in the mid to late 20th century. This period affected
Gemany’s relationships with some of the top countries in the world to the
extent of engaging in warfare (Grenville 316).
In conclusion, the 20th and the 21st
century saw the discovery of innovative innovations that propelled the country
back to the great nations fold. This era saw the discovery of the first
aircraft powered by a turbojet in Germany. It returned Germany to its usual
status that it was in before. Currently Germany sits fourth in the most
advanced economies in the world behind only the United States, china and Japan
(Grenville 317-320).
